Moving forward
May 21st, 2012 | tobias | | No Comments »Hey! It’s busy times of remixing and writing new songs so I haven’t had time to update the home page. There’s microblogging on Facebook and Twitter and I just set up an Instagram account (azurebluesuedeshoes) and uploaded my very first YouTube clip and aim for more visual stuff to show you in good time. I’ve filmed a lot of stuff on tour and if I dare to, I will edit in into some sort of documentary.
By the way there’s plenty of eye candy on my two main labels’s home pages cause both Hybris from Scandinavia and Matinée from the USA have new web pages. Hybris has a great looking new design and Jimmy over at Matinée has put up a beautiful new page, too. If you want a collected stream of reviews you can find quite a few international ones on this catalog page for Rule Of Thirds. You know Matinée turns 15 this year. Please check out all of their catalog! There’s so much great music on there! And Hybris has become my family. In a deep way.
This has by far exceeded my expectations but I, my co-producer Midnight Ruler and the musicians I tour with will work hard to keep moving forward with new sounds! And I must say it hasn’t all been easy and at times it is very frustrating to tour when there’s not the audience response you wish for after spending days and nights on the road. But I think the good good people in Finland and the Swedish cities Göteborg and Umeå made these last trips worthwhile.
Now we’re looking forward to some really exciting summer shows. It’s including a fabulous slot at Hultsfredsfestivalen, right before Jamie XX on the same stage at 00:00 Saturday June 16th! Then we head down to Germany to play Flamingo in Berlin June 21st. The week after that I go by myself to London for a very cool show that will be announced soon. And in July we play the most northern gig I’ve ever done all the way up in Skellefteå at Trästockfestivalen.
Last but not least I’m working on a new sound. All and all I feel a deep love for Rule Of Thirds but recording new songs makes me feel like this is bigger, wiser, better. Still my typical songwriting, but with new experience. Here’s a sample of the pre-productions so far.
